Unlocking Happiness: Reflect, Renew, and Recharge!

In a world filled with stress and anxiety, it’s critical to take time to renew your mind, body, and spirit. For the second year, the Institute is hosting a women’s weekend retreat in partnership with Grand Rapids Center for Mindfulness. The retreat will be a time for women to come together in community and explore ways to soothe and care for themselves.

We all have tendencies to get lost in regret, planning, or worry, rehashing the past and rehearsing for the future. In this retreat, we will learn and practice the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to begin to unlock the joy and happiness that are available in the present moment. As we move together through the weekend, we will explore the practices of meditation, gentle mindful yoga, special hikes in nature, and delicious meals.

The retreat will be led by Carol Hendershot, cofounder of the Grand Rapids Center for Mindfulness, staff at the Institute, and yoga instructor Rachel Carson.
